Kansas AG outpaces opponents in fundraising

The Democratic incumbent reported Monday his campaign raised $235,000 from Jan. 1 through July 22. That brought his total fundraising to $819,000.

Kansas Attorney General Steve Six opened his first campaign for the job Thursday by promising to run on his two-year record of independent management of the office and to run away from politically damaging actions of his two predecessors.

"The work of these forensic psychologists is vital to the process of determining which violent offenders must be committed indefinitely to the sexually violent predator treatment program," Six said. "The failure to act to restore funding for these psychologists will increase the likelihood of sexually violent predators re-entering society."

“I am happy with this agreement and that we can preserve local health care in the Larned community,” Six stated in a release. “The parties and I feel this is a healthy outcome for all parties and most importantly the Larned and surrounding communities."

Attorney general, Humane Society announce reward for reporting animal fighting

“Animal fighting causes the suffering of hundreds of thousands of animals every year, but it also negatively impacts our communities with violence, illegal gambling and other crimes,” Six said Tuesday in a news release.
